Darkness Shrugs, 2017, oil/canvas, 28 x 22″
New piece just dropped off at the William Scott Gallery in Provincetown, MA. This painting is inspired in part by Jamie Wyeth’s portraits of Orca Bates which I saw a few years ago at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
Going through my studio, trying to make some space. If you’re interested in any of these works, email me at: fivedollarmilkshakes@hotmail.com
Several of these are small studies. Size and specifics vary, so contact me with any questions.

Study, instagrammer.
For the past month or so I’ve been asking instagram friends to send me photos to draw and paint from. Initially I though it would be a fun winter side project. Figured I’d do some drawings and maybe collect them together in a zine eventually. But then I started doing some paint studies, which led to larger paintings, etc. and now I’m thinking of doing a show of the work this summer.
I’ve actually been overwhelmed by the response I’ve been getting. I didn’t think many people would be interested in offering their services as models, but I’ve gotten so many great photo submissions that I’ve got my work cut out for me for a while, which is a nice problem to have.
